What areas do you cover?
We are based in Kiama and cover the Illawarra from Berry in the south to the northern Wollongong suburbs. That includes Kiama, Kiama Downs, Minnamurra, Jamberoo, Gerringong, Gerroa and Berry in the south, Shellharbour, Shell Cove, Albion Park, Oak Flats and Warilla in the middle, and Wollongong, Figtree, Dapto, Corrimal, Woonona, Bulli and Thirroul to the north. Being Kiama-based means we are usually closer to the southern suburbs than a Wollongong operator is, and we will give you a realistic arrival time rather than an optimistic one.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We hold NSW plumbing and gas fitting licence 286222C and carry insurance. We issue compliance certificates for all gas appliance installation, repair and pipework, as NSW Fair Trading requires. Ask any plumber for their licence number before they start work, and check it on the NSW Fair Trading register if you want to be certain.
Do you charge for a quote?
No. Quotes are free and you get the price before any work begins. If we find something during the job that changes the scope, we stop and tell you rather than adding it to the invoice at the end.
What does a plumber cost in the Illawarra?
As a rough guide: emergency callout $180 to $300, blocked drain clearing $150 to $450 depending on whether it needs jet rodding, leak detection $250 to $500, a hot water system supplied and installed $1,200 to $5,500 depending on the type, and gas appliance installation $200 to $800. Those are typical ranges, not a quote. We publish detailed cost guides for the common jobs so you can see what drives the number before you call anyone.
Do you do emergency callouts?
Yes, 24 hours a day for genuine emergencies: burst pipes, gas leaks, sewage backing up, and hot water failures. A dripping tap or a slow drain is worth fixing promptly but is not an after-hours emergency, and we will tell you that on the phone rather than charging you an emergency rate for it.
Can you help with a blocked drain without digging up the yard?
Usually, yes. We run a CCTV drain camera first so we know what we are dealing with, then clear it with jet rodding or an electric eel. Excavation is a last resort for a collapsed or dropped section, and where a pipe has failed structurally, relining can often repair it without a trench. We show you the footage rather than asking you to take our word for it.
